Disclaimer:

The submission policy of The Banner is a continual work in progress and subject to change at any time.

The Banner reserves the right to reject any submitted material for any reason.

Submission of material to The Banner does not construe that The Banner staff shall review it.

All physical submissions to The Banner become the property of the BayRPS and the BayRPS is under no obligation to return submissions. Physical submissions with appropriate return packaging and adequate postage to return the submission will be returned to the creator whenever possible. The BayRPS is under no obligation to re-transmit electronic material to the author, but will generally attempt to honor such requests whenever possible.

The BayRPS does not and will not generate any revenue in connection with material presented on the Banner or the web pages on the BayRPS website that contain Banner links and/or material.

Original Material
The Banner accepts submissions of completely original written material of 5,000 words or less (although material over 2,500 words might take use awhile to determine whether or not to accept or reject it) "completely original" in this context is defined as material which is NOT a derivative work of other published material or incorporates material from other published material. Written material may be edited to correct grammatical errors and The Banner staff may require some revision before possible publication. Written material should be submitted via rich text format (.rtf) or Acrobat (.pdf) to the contact email posted on the main Banner page: all other file formats will be rejected without inspection or viewing.

The Banner accepts submissions of completely original visual artwork in digital format of up to 1.5 Megabytes. "completely original" in this context is defined as material which is NOT a derivative work of other published material OR incorporates material from other published material. Artwork may be resized, the resolution modified, and color images may be modified to greyscale images in order to fit to match media requirements. Visual artwork should be submitted in .jpg, .png, .eps, .gif, or .swf format. All other formats will be rejected without inspection or viewing.

In general, we strive to keep our content at a true PG to PG-13 level as would be considered by both an American and European viewer. Therefore, we will not post material containing graphic violence, explicit sex scenes, or extreme profanity. Written material containing less extreme levels of mature themes that we feel to be acceptable shall be accompanied by clear 'warning labels.' Visual material will not contain graphic violence or sexual content, including nudity (Editorial Comment: Little wonder why the Puritains were kicked out of Europe, eh? What a bunch of spoilsports.)

All submissions must include the author's name and physical address and a written notice stating that the author is the original creator of this work, has not given the electronic publication rights to another party, and is granting the BayRPS the right to permanently post/distribute this material free of charge on the BayRPS website unless some other agreement has been arranged before submission of any materials to The Banner or the magazine staff. The author retains all other rights (including any and all applicable rights pertaining to derivative works).
